A Pictorial for Responsible Eating – Week of 3.26.2010

As I’ve mentioned before, pictures tell a story.  In addition to the Applesauce Cookies and Cabbage, Radish and Bacon Slaw recipes recently posted, here is my story on how we’re incorporating our local foods:

Bacon, Spinach and Cheese Sandwich – Bacon from Country Time Farm, Spinach from Landisdale Farm, and Muenster cheese from Hometown Provisions

Baked Chicken Wing – Chicken from M&B Fairview Farm

French Onion Soup – Onions from Landisdale Farm with Muenster cheese-topped baguette from Metropolitan Bakery

Sauteed Pea Greens – Pea Greens from Blue Moon Acres sauteed in olive oil and topped with salt and pepper

Warm Wilted Greens Salad – Greens from Greensgrow Farms cooked in olive oil with caramelized onions from Landisdale Farm and topped with Romano cheese from Mr. Mancuso’s in South Philadelphia

Baked Sweet Potato with Cinnamon – Sweet Potato from Landisdale Farm

Koch’s Smoked Turkey Breast – Koch’s Turkey Farm, baked in a 400 degree oven for 40-45 minutes

Turkey, Lettuce and Cheese Sandwich – Leftover turkey with Bibb Lettuce from Highland Orchard Farms and Muenster cheese from Hometown Provisions
