Snow. Again. Major roads are closed, city offices and schools are closed, my office was actually closed. The white icing on the white cake? We set a record of 70.3 inches of snow this winter. And it’s not even mid-February.
Well if it’s cold outside, it’s warm in the kitchen. This week, I’ve been working on a couple new recipes to sustain my path of eating locally, seasonally and thoughtfully. Click on the hyperlinks for more information and recipes.
- Chili with ground beef from Lancaster Farm Fresh topped with shredded Muenster cheese
- Roasted vegetables – parsnip, sweet potato, leeks
- Honey chevre cheese spread on toasted cinnamon walnut raisin whole-wheat bread
- Beet Risotto
- Turnips with Caramelized Red Onions
Hoping for a decent thaw this weekend to pick up another round of seasonal produce – Greensgrow CSA is on the menu!
